Valda M. (Golding) Buckelew died Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at The Elms at Cranbury. She was 87. Born in Englewood she had lived in Fort Lee before moving to North Brunswick in 1939. Mrs. Buckelew was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of North Brunswick Volunteer Fire Company #2, the North Brunswick Senior Citizens and Smokey Stover's Camping Group. She had been a Girl Scout Leader in North Brunswick.
Her husband, John H. Buckelew, Sr. died in 1997. She was also predeceased by her son-in-law, Peter DeAngelis and her brother, Robert A. Golding. A beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she is survived by three daughters, Sandra Smith and her husband Stephen of North Brunswick, Colleen Cook and her husband Randall of East Brunswick and Kathleen DeAngelis of North Brunswick; her son, John H. Buckelew, Jr. of Browns Mills; ten grandchildren and their spouses, Sue and Mike Winkler, Amy and Jeff Genthe, Steve and Lori Smith, John and Linda Buckelew, Rebecca and Keith Jackson, Jennifer Soric, Amanda and Jeremiah Hendley, Stephanie Smith, Heather and Cesar Ramos and Victoria DeAngelis; and 21 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. Burial will follow in Van Liew Cemetery in North Brunswick. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home Sunday afternoon from 2 PM to 5 PM.
