Ruth E. Veglatte, 93, died on April 21, 2014 in Sebring, Florida. She was born on Dec. 31, 1920 in Weston, PA to Evan C. and Ursula V. May Eisenman. Ruth was raised in Tomhicken, PA and later lived in Rochester, NY and then Middlesex. Since 1999 she resided with her good friends George and Rose Haines, living in Manchester, Randolph and Sebring, FL. Ruth was a machine shop worker with Burroughs Corp., Warren, for a number of years until her retirement in 1985. She had been a very active member of the Dunellen United Methodist Church, which she joined in 1977. In recent years she had attended Tanglewood Community Church in Sebring, FL.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Paul Van Wert and her second husband, Anthony Veglatte. She was the mother of the late Paulette Van Wert who died in 1998, and the sister of the late Blanche Hoffman. She was also predeceased by her good friend Rose M. Haines who died in 2012. Her family includes her niece, Linda Castellani of South Plainfield; her nephew, Gerald Hoffman, Jr. of Frenchtown; her good friends George J. Haines of Sebring, FL and David J. Haines of Randolph; and many great-nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 8:30 P.M. on Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at The Mundy Funeral Home, 142 Dunellen Ave., Dunellen. Entombment will be private at Lake Nelson Memorial Park, Piscataway. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday from 6:00 P.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
