Lester B. Putterman, of Milltown, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014. He was 85. Born in NYC, he lived in Fords and East Brunswick before moving to Milltown in 1992.
During WWII, he served in the US Army as a musician for the Special Service Division. He graduated from CUNY and most recently retired from the import and export business.
Mr. Putterman enjoyed taking walks, playing his clarinet and saxophone and spending time with his grandchildren. He listened to talk radio such as Imus and Geraldo. And he loved to debate politics with neighbors and friends. He loved the companionship of Cody the dog.
He's predeceased by his brother, Bernard Putterman. Surviving are his wife Phyllis (Akst) Putterman; his daughter and son-in-law Helayne and Tom Raslowsky of Milltown; and his Grandchildren, Jamie And Joshua.
A graveside service will be held 11:30 am, (today) Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, Gill Lane, Iselin. Contributions may be made to either: Milltown Rescue Squad or Milltown Fire Department. You may sign the "obituary" email "guestbook" at www.crabiel.com
