Joseph Votek Jr.

AGE: 86 • Avenel

Joseph Votek Jr., 86, of Avenel passed away on Friday, July 11, 2014 at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy. Joseph was born in Perth Amboy. He was a plant manager for Singer Sewing Machines in Elizabeth before retiring. He served his country during World War II in the United States Army as a Teletype Operator. He was a parishioner of St. John's Lutheran Church in Perth Amboy.

He was predeceased by his loving wife Josephine in 1997; by his parents Fanni (Kironya) and Joseph Votek Sr; a sister, Helen Mascenik; and an aunt Isabelle Gndarilla. He is survived by his sons Joseph Votek III and his wife Deborah of Sonoma, CA, and Glenn Alan Votek and his wife Karen of Lebanon, NJ; sister Mary Babowski of Perth Amboy; grandchildren Joseph Miles Votek, Christopher Votek, Brittney Votek, Taylor Votek, and Brandon Votek.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 14, 2014 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Zylka Funeral Home, 513-515 State Street, Perth Amboy, NJ. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 15 beginning with prayers at the funeral home at 9:30am. A service will follow at 10am at St. John's Lutheran Church in Perth Amboy, followed by internment at Cloverleaf Cemetery in Woodbridge.
