Helen Goleskie

AGE: 87 • Green Brook

Helen N Goleskie, 87, entered eternal rest peacefully at home surrounded by her family on July 16 2014 (her birthday). Daughter of the late Michael and Magdalena Tymecki, Helen was born in the Chimney Rock area of Martinsville. She was raised in South Bound Brook and graduated from Bound Brook High School where she was a Drum Corps Majorette and Twirler. Helen was a resident of Green Brook Township for over 60 years.

Helen was employed at Western Union and Bakelite. Later she was employed by the Somerset County Surrogate office and retired from Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. Helen was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, member of their Altar Rosary Society and past President of the PTA. She was also a dedicated worker at the Green Brook election polling sites for many years and a member of the Woman's Bowling League of Green Brook. Helen was also a founding member of the BBHS "44" Club.

Helen was a kind and caring person who will be sadly missed by all that knew her. She will always be remembered for her love of her family and friends and the joy she brought by cooking pierogi's, pineapple upside down cake and rosette treats for all.

Helen is survived by her loving husband of 63 years John T (Jack) Goleskie, her children Thomas and wife Karen, Gene and wife Debbie, Janet and husband David Dohanish, Beverly and husband Rick Aragon, John and wife Jeanne, and Eric and wife Anita and her 9 cherished grand children and 5 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers Frank and Chet and sisters Albina, Blanche and Jen.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, July 20 from 2 to 5 pm at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main St Bridgewater. Prayers will be said 8:30 am Monday, July 21 at the funeral home followed by a 9:30 am Mass at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church 600 Harris Avenue in Middlesex, NJ. Burial will follow at Bound Brook Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her memory to Community Care Hospice 908-725-9355.
