Albert J. Mistove, Sr.

AGE: 82 • Readington Township

Albert J. Mistove, Sr., age 82 years, of Readington Township, NJ, died Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. Born in Signac, New Jersey on August 15, 1931, to the late Albert and Mary (Klemas) Mistove, he was raised in Piscataway NJ and later moved to Flemington NJ. After graduation from Dunellen High School in 1949, Al entered the U.S. Army in March, 1951 and served in Korea with the 31st Infantry Regiment, 7th Division. He received the Combat Infantry Badge for combat actions on Heartbreak Ridge in North Korea. After his discharge, Al worked for the former Art Color Printing Company in Dunellen; RCA Corp in Somerville, and eventually retired from Microwave Semiconductor in Somerset NJ. Al joined the New Jersey National Guard, retiring in 1991 after more than 20 years of service. He was also a passionate New York Yankees and Giants fan.

Albert was predeceased by his brothers, Robert, Roger, and William. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Gloria Sixt, his daughter, Beverly Mistove of Severn, MD, his son, Albert, Jr. of Rockville, MD, and one granddaughter, Melanie of Severn, MD.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 am, Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 105 Summer Road, Three Bridges, NJ 08887. Burial will follow in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 3 to 5 pm and from 7 to 9 pm at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Al's name may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
