Gloria Haydee Melendez-Diaz

Gloria Haydee Melendez-Diaz, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014 at her home with her family at her side. She was born in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico and had lived in New Brunswick for 50 years, before recently moving to her daughter's home in Highland Park. Gloria had been employed with the custodial department at Rutgers University, New Brunswick for many years. She was a member of the Universal Church in New Brunswick.
Gloria was predeceased by her husband, Rafael Davila; her two sons, Danny and Eddie R. Davila. She is survived by her beloved children, her daughters, Maria Davila, of Highland Park, Carmen Davila-Nay, of Atlantic City, Ivette Davila-Nay and her husband Manuel, of New Brunswick; her three sons, Angel R., of Philadelphia, PA, Emiliano and Felix Davila, of New Brunswick; 26 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters, Aida L. Santiago, of Florida, Rosa M. Scott, of Costa Rica, Maldalena Melendez-Diaz, of Puerto Rico; her aunt, Margarita Diaz-Roman and uncle, Francisco Diaz and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will take place on today, (Tuesday), August 5th from 9-11am at the Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, 239 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick. Funeral service will follow at 11am. Burial at Greenmount Cemetery in Philadelphia, PA.
