William H. Randolph, 86, died Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Morristown Memorial Hospital. He was born September 23, 1927 in Plainfield to Harry and Mary Conway Randolph. Bill was raised in South Plainfield and had resided in Bridgewater before moving to Bedminster in 1973. He was a graduate of North Plainfield High School and had served in the U.S. Navy at the end of W.W.II. He was a ceramic tile contractor and owned the Randolph Tile Company in Bedminster more than 50 years prior to his retirement. Before and after his retirement, he shared the love of antiques with his wife. They owned antique businesses in Clinton and Lambertville. Among Bill's interests were fishing, the Jersey Shore, NASCAR and all sporting events, but his special interest was the enjoyment he received talking to his friends.
He was the husband of Betty Ann Day Randolph who died August 25, 2000, to whom he had been married nearly 50 years. His family includes 4 children, Patricia Randolph-Clark of Saranac Lake, N.Y., Peter W. Randolph of Manchester, Gretchen Randolph of Bedminster and Paul Jason Randolph of Whitehouse Station; 5 grandchildren, Peter Randolph, Alexander Clark, Elizabeth Clark, Tyler Randolph and Kyle Randolph.
A service will be held at The Mundy Funeral Home, 142 Dunellen Ave., Dunellen on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 10:00A.M. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Friends may visit the family on Friday from 7-9P.M. at the funeral home.
