MONROE TOWNSHIP - PHYLLIS (ZONKOWSKI) PALFY died Saturday, February 4, 2017, peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 76 years old.

Phyllis was born in New Brunswick on June 17, 1940 to Sophie and John Zonkowski. She resided in North Brunswick before settling in Rossmoor of Monroe Township.

She was preceded in death by her parents and stepson, Raymond.

Phyllis is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Anthony, and her sons, James and Michael. She will be sadly missed by her sister Barbara (Allan) Beyer, of Southampton, as well as by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Phyllis was a dedicated fan of the NY Yankees and even named her cats Jeter and DJ. Her travels took her frequently to Hawaii and Williamsburg. Her smile and friendly disposition was contagious to all she met. Flea markets, craft shows, and various clubs in the Rossmoor community consumed her spare time, as did all the crafts she loved to make. Phyllis was employed at the College of Environmental Science, worked for the provost of Rutgers University and Douglas College, and retired after 20 years from Rutgers Library in New Brunswick.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 8, at 8:30 am in The BRUNSWICK MEMORIAL HOME, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, followed by a 9:30 am Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Nativity of Our Lord Church, Monroe Township. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
