Brian Michael Kelly, 24, died suddenly Monday (Oct. 27, 2008) at Somerset Medical Center, Somerville. Born Jan. 16, 1984, in New Brunswick, he was the son of Michael J. and Mary Ann Yachym Kelly of South Bound Brook. He was a life-long South Bound Brook resident.
Brian was working part-time as he awaited approval in Jersey City for his life-long ambition of becoming a professional firefighter. He loved sports and was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys football team and the Boston Red Sox baseball team. He was a firefighter with the South Bound Brook Volunteer Fire Department since age 18, where he served as head trustee, and was a past lieutenant. Brian (BK, as he was known by his friends) was loved by many and lived life to its fullest.
Brian is survived by his devoted parents; his loving brother, Christopher Kelly of South Bound Brook; his uncle, Mark Kelly of Somerset; his aunts, Sissy (Theresa) Appignani of Toms River, Debby (Tom) DeAngelo of Toms River, and many cousins who thought the world of him.
Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 31, at Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Ave., Bound Brook, followed by interment at Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, at the funeral home.
