Bernard Levine, 74, of Whiting, died on Monday, February 16, 2009 at Community Medical Center, Toms River.
Born in The Bronx, NY, he lived in NJ for many years and in California for 27 years, from where he moved to Whiting three years ago. He was a member of Temple Beth Am Shalom in Lakewood. Bernard served in the Army during 1954-55, and was a partner in EDI Express, a transportation company in Gardena, CA, until his retirement six years ago.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Rose, sons Frank J. Levine and his wife Peggy of Warren, David J. Levine of Whiting and Alan P. Levine and his wife Sharon of Raleigh, NC, his sister Edna Sasso of Whiting, and five grandchildren Anthony "Max", Samuel, Emmett, Joshua and Paul.
Memorial service will be held at Temple Beth Am Shalom, 400 Carey St., Lakewood, on Friday, February 20, at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the American Lung Assoc., 1600 Rt. 22 East, Union, NJ 07083, will be appreciated. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Belkoff-Goldstein Funeral Chapel, Lakewood.
