MARY S. RYAN
AGE: 84 WATCHUNG
Mary S. Ryan, 84, beloved Mother and Nana, died Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at Ashbrook Nursing Home in Scotch Plains. Born in Manville she was the daughter of Michael and Anna Stazo. She lived in Dunellen and Bridgewater for 54 years before moving to Watchung Ridge Assisted Living in 2004. During WWII she worked as a telephone operator at Camp Kilmer and then for NJ Bell for several years after the war. She worked with her husband William for Ryan's Dairy in Bound Brook for 40 years. She then worked for ARAMARK Food Services in Raritan for 10 years before retiring in 1996. She enjoyed going to garage sales with her sister in law Helen Stazo and collecting antiques.
She was predeceased by her husband William Ryan in 1985, her brothers Chick, Mike and George Stazo and sister Anne Kulpak. She is survived by 2 daughters, Patricia A. and her husband Michael Vignola of Fanwood, Jean Marie and her husband Richard Francis of Raleigh, NC, and a son, William R. and his wife Pamela Ryan of Killeen, TX, 1 brother John Stazo of Houston, TX, 6 Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 PM Friday November 6, 2009 at Hagan Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Avenue, Bound Brook. Funeral services will be private. Memorial donations may be made to Center for Hope 1900 Raritan Road, Scotch Plains, NJ 07076.
