THOMAS J. BORKOWSKI
SOMERSET
Thomas J. Borkowski, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Jersey City, he resided in Port Reading and Woodbridge before moving to Somerset seven years ago. Mr. Borkowski earned his Bachelor of Science degree from St. Peters University, Jersey City; and was employed as a salesman for Reynolds Metals for 34 years, retiring in 1993. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
Mr. Borkowski was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Mary Clarke Borkowski, in 2002; his parents, John and Louisa Bobrowski Borkowski; and three sisters, Josephine Brown, Theresa Chmielewski, and Jane O'Connor. He is survived by a son, Mark Thomas Borkowski of Alpharetta, Ga.; four daughters Jacqueline Cialino of Toms River, Mary Ellen Borkowski of Hillsborough, Maggie Neilson of Ridgewood, and Heather Kochanski of East Brunswick; his companion, Rose Mary Sprague; two brothers, Julius Borkowski of Secaucus, and Edward Borkowski of Northfield; and eight grandchildren, Jenna Borkowski, Keith Cialino, Amanda Cialino, Emily Cialino, Jaime Wouters, Jack Neilson, Reagan Neilson and Avery Kochanski.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7 at Costello-Greiner Funeral Home, (www.costello-greiner.com) 44 Green St. at Barron Avenue, Woodbridge. The funeral will take place at 9:45 a.m. Friday, Jan. 8 from the funeral home, followed by a 10:30 a.m. Funeral Liturgy at St. James Catholic Church, Woodbridge. Entombment will be in St. James Chapel Mausoleum, Woodbridge. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
