Obituary Condolences

Alvina E. Sullivan, born in Jersey City, died peacefully at Care One Holmdel Wednesday November 24, 2010. She resided at Portland Pointe, Atlantic Highlands for many years. She was revered and loved by her family and friends. Alvina retired from the New York County Lawyer's Association in New York where she was Administrative Receptionist. She worked in a similar capacity prior to that at the World Trade Center.
Alvina was predeceased by her parents, Michael Dobrowski of Jersey City and Sophie (Marie) Dobrou nee Meckier of Keansburg. She is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Valerie and Michael Mathews of Middletown, Denise and John Carr of Myrtle Beach, SC; her grandchildren, Kim Mathews of Howell and Kristan Mathews of Virginia, Stefanie Pilip of Bernardsville and Mark Pilip of Myrtle Beach, SC; two sisters and their husbands, Valerie E. Keelen and Edward of Ocean and Diane M. Gruber and Ronald of Holmdel; nieces Karen D'Amore and her husband, Joseph of Red Bank, Alysson Keelen of Red Bank and Gayle Nealy Gruber of Brick; a nephew, Christopher Keelen and his wife Regina of Atlantic Highlands; great nieces Alexandra D'Amore of Red Bank and Kendall and Genevieve Keelen of Atlantic Highlands; and great nephew Christian D'Amore, of Red Bank.
A viewing will be held at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank, NJ 07701 on Monday, November 29, 2010 at 9:15 to 10:15. A Funeral Mass will be conducted at St. Benedict's Roman Catholic Church Monday, November 29, 2010 at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Alvina's name to St. Vincent DePaul Society at St. Benedict Church, 165 Bethany Rd., Holmdel, NJ 07733.
