William Sargeant, 84, of Holmdel, formerly of Cliffwood Beach, passed away, Sunday, January 16, 2011, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born July 16, 1926, to the late Herbert and Rose (Milkon) Sargeant in Yonkers, NY. He and his late wife, Irene (Kmetz) Sargeant, of 56 years, resided in Cliffwood Beach from 1958 through 2003, then moved into his daughter's home from 2003-2010 in Old Bridge, before entering the Bayshore Health and Rehabilitation Center, Holmdel in May 2010. William worked for Rheems Manufacturing Co., Linden for 35 years, retiring from the company in 1981; and worked for CRT Support Co., for 19 years, retiring in 2001. He enjoyed classic and western movies, quiz shows and baseball, but above all, he loved his family.

A side from being preceded in death by his wife, Irene; he was also preceded in death by two sons, William and Eric Sargeant; a brother, Herbert Sargeant and a sister, Ruth Oleksowicz. He is survived by his loving children, Susan Jucciarone and her husband, Joseph of Old Bridge; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Sargeant of South Amboy; Herbert Sargeant and his wife, Debbie of Old Bridge; Gary Sargeant and his wife, Phyllis of Pennsylvania; Craig Sargeant and his wife, Diane of Ewing; and a daughter-in-law, Barbara Sargeant of Cliffwood Beach; his cherished grandchildren, Jody and Dennis Spier; Joe, Jeff and Jean Jucciarone; Michael, Nancy, Keith and Melanie Sargeant; Aaron, Will and Debbie Sargeant; Gary, Paul and Scott Sargeant and James Sargeant; a dear brother, Ray Sargeant of Edison; and seven precious great grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited Wednesday, 2-4 & 7-9PM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, with a service during the visitation. Cremation will be private. If you wish flowers or memorial contributions to your favorite charity may be made.
