Antonio J. Magretto, was born October 5, 1929 in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 19, 2011. He and his wife Carol were married for 26 years. He was affectionately called Nino by his wife and stepsons. Mr. Magretto went into the Marines when he was seventeen years old, he was honorably discharged after serving four proud years. He was always very proud of being a Marine. If ever there was a Jack of all trades it was Mr. Magretto. During his lifetime he worked on a tug boat, went to beautician school, became a fireman, worked for Mack Truck, did deep sea diving salvage recovery, learned auto body and worked at it, he also had his own sheet rock and taping construction company, and owned a luncheonette.
Mr. Magretto will be remembered fondly by his four children, Mary Mc Coullough, Andrew Magretto, Kathleen Plaskon and Richard Magretto; stepsons, Mark Williams and Chad Williams; grandchildren, Christopher Mc Coullough, Richard Magretto, Donna Klementovicz, Paul Lasko, Nicole, CJ, Tyler, Brianne Williams and Michael Cannito; daughter-in-laws, Linda Magretto and Diane Williams and son-in-law, Robert Plaskon. Mr. Magretto was predeceased by an adopted daughter, Katherine Lasko; great grandchildren, Kindra and Connor Magretto and Logan and Aidan Klementovicz.
His loving family and friends will gather for a service in celebration of his life Monday, August 1 at the General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Road, Arneytown, NJ at 2:00 pm. Semper Fi to all his brothers. Arrangements are under the direction of Ocean County Cremation Service, 206 Lacey Road, Forked River, NJ 08731.
