Joseph Rutigliano

Joseph Rutigliano, 83, of Bayonne, N.J., passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 30, 2011, at Overlook Medical Center in Summit, N.J. Joseph was born in Poggiorsini, Italy January 1, 1928. He came to the United States with his wife Antonietta and became US citizens while residing in Jersey City then later moving to Bayonne. He was employed by General Motors then in 1956 became owner and operator of an Italian food import company named Joseph Rutigliano and Sons, Inc., located in South Plainfield, N.J.

Joseph was the beloved husband of Antonietta (nee Di Gennaro); loving father of Charles C. and his fiancee, Maryann, Vito and his companion, Ana, and Vincent and his companion, Lorraine; cherished grandfather of Gina Marie, Joseph Anthony, Gianna, and Victoria Rutigliano, and dear brother of Vincenzo, and Antonio Rutigliano, and Raffaella Scaramella, Rosa Picerno, and Anna (Nina) Giove. He was predeceased by his parents, Cataldo and Eleanora (nee De Luccia) Rutigliano, and five siblings.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Migliaccio Funeral Home located at 851 Kennedy Blvd, Bayonne, NJ. Services are being held from 2:00 pm - 4 pm and 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm on Tuesday and Wednesday August 2nd and 3rd. A Mass will be offered on Thursday, Aug. 4, at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Bayonne. Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington, N.J. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joseph's memory to Holy Face Monastery, 1697 State Route 3, Clifton, N.J. 07013. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
