Joyce Conway, 85, of Hazlet, passed away peacefully at Bayshore Hospital on August 22nd. She was born Joyce Game on June 30, 1926 in London, UK. In 1947, Joyce moved to the U.S. and was living in Brooklyn, NY. A few years later, Joyce and her husband Martin moved to Long Island, NY to raise their family and she resided there for most of her life. Recently in December of 2010, she settled in Hazlet. She was also a retired school crossing guard for over 30 years for the Suffolk County Police Department. Joyce had a gift for knitting and was an avid reader. She often volunteered her time by knitting baby hats and donating them to Southside Hospital's newborn babies in Bayshore, NY. She was predeceased by her parents Charles and Louise Game, her beloved and devoted husband Martin Conway, her brothers James and Leonard Game, and her daughter Joyce McCann. Joyce is survived by her loving children Cathy Canton and her husband Jack of Summerfield, FL, and Martin C. Conway and his wife Terry of Hazlet, her cherished grandchildren Ronald Kenahan, Jaime Telfer, and Pat Conway, along with her adored great grandchildren Josh and Kayla Kenehan, and David and Katie Telfer. She is also survived by her son-in-law Bill McCann, her nephews Len and James Game, several other nieces and nephews, dear family friend Gene Hearl, who Joyce fondly called her "other son", and her very close friends Wilma and Roger Hall and Maggie Reitano. She will be sadly missed, but never forgotten. Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday August 24th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9PM and Thursday morning August 25th from 9:15 to 10AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3269 State Route 35 N, Hazlet, 07730. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home during visiting hours on Wednesday August 24th. Following Thursday morning's visitation, interment will take place at Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, NY.
