Daniel P. Bennett

AGE: 90 • Seaside Park

Daniel P. Bennett, 90, of Seaside Park, died Thursday, April 12, 2012, at Ocean Medical Center, Brick. Born in Chicago, Ill., he lived in Mendham Twsp. before moving full time to Seaside Park 25 years ago and had summered in Seaside Park since the sixties. He also had dual citizenship in Ireland and maintained a home in Dublin. Daniel was a Licensed Mechanical Engineer and worked as a senior marketing representative for IBM in New York City, NY. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the 16th Infantry Div. during WWII and received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Daniel earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois and his Masters from Columbia in New York. He was a daily parishioner of St. Catharine's R.C. Church in Seaside Park.

He is survived by his wife, Irene nee Kereluck; three sons, Tim of Louisiana, Kevin of Dayton, Ohio, and Paul of Chester; and seven grandchildren, Angela, Kristine, Steven, Jonathan, Katherine, Matthew and Joey.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2012 at The Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 809 Central Ave., Seaside Park. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 17 at St. Catharine's R.C. Church, Seaside Park, with burial to follow at 12:30pm at the New Jersey Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown.
