Elizabeth Scalfani, 93, of Middletown, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at her home. She was born Elizabeth Pavoni on June 6, 1918 in Manhattan, NY. She was raised in both Staten Island and Brooklyn, NY. Later in life, Elizabeth relocated to Middletown and soon after moved to Florida for 20 years. In 1998, she returned to Middletown. Elizabeth was the proprietor of her own clothing and garment store, Normie's Outlet in Brooklyn, NY.
She was predeceased by her parents, Anthony and Elizabeth Capone Pavoni; and her beloved husband, Joseph C. Scalfani. Elizabeth is survived by her loving children, Richard Scalfani and his wife Bonnie of Buffalo, NY, Carole Arkin and her husband Leon of Middletown, Joanne Cosenza and her husband Michael of Brooklyn, NY, and Elizabeth Roventini and her husband Robert of Eatontown; her cherished grandchildren, Laura, Anne, Diane, Roxanne, Michele, Christine, Daniel, Jennifer, Lynne, Adam and Richard, along with 14 adored great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.
Family and friends are invited to visit from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 10 and from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. Friday morning, May 11 at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3269 State Rt. 35 N, Hazlet. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Friday, May 11 at St. Leo the Great R.C. Church, Lincroft. Entombment, Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.
