Mildred Fry, 89, of Holmdel, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 22, 2012, at Bayshore Rehabilitation Center in Holmdel. She was born on March 3, 1923 in Rosendale, MO and later, she moved to Clayton, NM. In 1942, she relocated to Arlington, VA, where she worked in Washington for the Navy Department during WW II. Mildred also lived in Rock Hill, SC, before ultimately settling in Matawan in 1962. While living in the Bayshore area, Mildred was a church secretary, volunteered at Bayshore Community Hospital for over 30 years and was also an active member of the First Baptist Church of Keyport.
She was predeceased by her parents, Fred and Nettie Reuszer Blaser; and her beloved husband of 33 years, William Ashley Fry. Mildred is survived by her loving children, Jewell Giedroyce and her husband Richard of Sidney, OH, Penny College and her husband David of Bethlehem, PA, and Bradley Fry and his wife Lisa of Stewartsville; her dear sister and brother, Naomi Tedford of KS and Paul Blaser of OK; her cherished grandchildren, Melissa McAtee and her husband Kyle, Jeffrey College and his wife Rachel, Daniel Giedroyce, Ashleigh College, Philip Giedroyce, Evan Fry, along with her loving great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Giedroyce and Emma College. She will be sadly missed but never forgotten.
Family and friends are invited to visit from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 27 at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3269 State Rt. 35 N, Hazlet. Religious services at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 28 at First Baptist Church of Keyport. Interment, Shoreland Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Hazlet.
