Russell William Steimle, age 81, of Crystal River, FL died on Monday, July 30, 2012 at his daughter's home in Manchester, NJ. He was born in Ridgefield Park, NJ, and lived in Toms River, NJ and Forked River, NJ before moving to Crystal River in 2005. He was employed for 30 years as a School Bus Driver for the Toms River Public School System; retiring in 1994. He was also a Master Baker for most of his life. He finished his career driving for the Loori Bus Company. He was an avid fisherman, gardener and baker. He was a very handy man who was considered by many, "A Jack Of All Trades." He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Barbara J. (Morton) Steimle; four sons, Brian K. and his wife, Anita of Toms River, Thomas R. and his wife, Sharon of Beachwood, NJ, Lou A. Rios and his wife, Maureen of Mainesville, OH, and Christopher M. and his wife, Lisa of Toms River; six daughters, Veronica Hemphill and her husband, Dr. Thomas A. of Michigan, Debra M. Fisher of Pinellas County, FL, Catherine M. Steadman and her husband, Donald of Lanoka Harbor, NJ, Susan J. Rios and her companion, Tom Ihnken of New York, NY, Cynthia A. Rios of Manchester and Deb Lyons of Manahawkin, NJ; two brothers, Earl and his wife Vivian of Middletown, NY and Ralph and his wife, Marie of Toms River; a sister, Grace Weichler of New York; 19 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Wednesday, 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Van Hise and Callagan Funeral Home, 812 Arnold Ave., Point Pleasant Beach, NJ. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, 9:30 AM at St. Peter's R.C. Church in Point Pleasant Beach. Burial will follow at Monmouth Memorial Park in Tinton Falls, NJ. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made in his honor to Van Dyke Hospice.
