AGE: 90 • Hillsborough

Mary L. Polak, 90, died Monday, Aug. 27, 2012 at Bridgeway Care and Rehabilitation Center at Hillsborough in Hillsborough, NJ. She was born in Pittston, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late Joseph and Eleanor Ferrara. She was a resident of Hillsborough, NJ for the past 7 months. Prior to that she was a longtime resident of Manville, NJ and also a previous resident of Bridgewater, NJ. Mrs. Polak was a homemaker. Mary was a loving and caring mother. She especially loved and enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed her time with her friends at Centerbridge and new friends at Avalon. She loved her bingo and trips to Atlantic City. She will be sadly missed by her family including many nieces and nephews and her many friends. Mrs. Polak was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Manville, NJ.

She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Joseph G. Polak. She was also predeceased by her sisters, Louise DeSantis, Josephine Romeo, Grace Wilchensky and Carrie Donato; by her brother, Patrick Ferrara and by a granddaughter, Aimee Polak. She is survived by her sons, Joseph Polak and his wife Elaine of Skillman, NJ, James Polak and his life partner Bill Harris of Atlanta, Georgia; her daughter, Ellie Kresefsky and her companion Ed Willard of Hillsborough, NJ and by a sister, Nancy Montagna of Plains, PA. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Brian Kresefsky and his companion Koren Komorowski, Jennifer Schaetzle and her husband Brian, Timothy Polak and his wife Lori and Joelle Reinson and her husband Scott and by four great grandchildren, Aidan and Logan Reinson, Katherine Polak and Olivia Schaetzle. Also survived by her special niece, Rachel Petrone and her husband Vincent (Pinzy) as well as many other nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 from 3 to 7 PM at the Ketusky Funeral Home, 1310 Brooks Blvd., Manville, NJ. (908)575-8512. The Funeral will be on Thursday, August 30, 2012, 8:15 AM from the Ketusky Funeral Home to be followed by a 9:00 AM Mass at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Manville, NJ. Burial will be private.
