Richard J. Reichert, of Bayville, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at the Van Dyke Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Toms River. He was 76. Born in Kearny, he lived in Iselin and Colonia before moving to Bayville in 2000. He worked as a Plant Manager for the Denk Baking Corporation in Brooklyn for over 25 years, retiring in 1999 as Vice President. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was also a parishioner of St. John Vianney's R.C. Church, Colonia.
His beloved wife, Kathleen M. Reichert, died in 2007. He is also predeceased by his dog and constant companion, Kelly. Surviving are his sons and daughters-in-law, Richard J. Reichert Jr. and his wife Carolyn of Forked River, and James Reichert and his wife Annabelle of Freehold; daughters and sons-in-law, Karen Foerschl and her husband Steve of Jackson, Cheryl Sharkey and her husband Owen of Iselin, Kathy Wolsky and her husband Ross of Crofton, Md., and Barbara Nisky and her husband Joseph of Colonia; brother, Frank Reichert of Ft. Myers, Fla.; sister, Virginia Wooby of South River; and 15 grandchildren, Brooke, Steven, Owen Jr., Brittany, Alex, Chelsea, Joseph, Victoria, Sean, Tayler, Cassandra, Haley, Andrew, Michael and Jaimee.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25 at the Gosselin Funeral Home, 660 New Dover Road, Edison. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 26 at the funeral home, followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass at St. John Vianney's R.C. Church, Colonia. Burial to follow in Hazel Wood Cemetery, Clark. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Van Dyke Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 99 Route 37 W, Toms River, NJ 08755, in his loving memory.
