Mary Nazemetz 92, died peacefully Jan 2, 2013 with her family by her side. Mary was born in Hillsborough and was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a 1937 graduate of Somerville High School. Mary enjoyed being a homemaker and proudly worked with her late husband at the family farm, River Edge Dairy in South Branch. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church Senior citizens, Hillsborough Senior Citizens, Neshanic Garden Club, and the Raritan Valley Grange #153. She was also very active in the Somerset County 4-H organization and a club leader. She particularly liked growing flowers and vegetables and took pride in preparing meals where all of the food came from the farm. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Raritan. Mary enjoyed gardening, cooking, needlework, reading and being with her family. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. She is predeceased by her husband, John, who passed away in 2001, and a sister Olga Krachun in 2005. Surviving are her three children, Patricia Rydberg, Michael Nazemetz and John Nazemetz, two grandchildren, Darren and Kaitlin Rydberg, and three great grandchildren, Mark, Eric and Gregory.Prayers will be said 8:30am Tuesday at the Bruce C. VanArsdale Funeral Home, 111 N. Gaston Ave., Somerville followed by a 9:30am mass at St. Joseph's Church in Raritan. Visitation will be 2-4pm & 7-9pm Monday at the funeral home.
