Charles J. Hager

AGE: 86 • Spotswood

CHARLES JOSEPH HAGER passed away on Jan. 24, 2013 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was 86. Born in Jersey City, he was a lifelong resident of Spotswood. Prior to retiring in 1982, he was an analyst for Exxon Corp., Manhattan, NY, where he worked for 30 years. A US Navy veteran he served from 1944-1950. He was a recipient of the Certificate of Recognition from President Harry S. Truman. He also was a member of the American Legion. He graduated from N.Y.U. in 1952 with high honors and was a member of Delta Phi Sigma, the Statistical Honor Society. He was a longtime coach, umpire and tennis player. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Eileen Tomsick Hager; his sons: Charles C. Hager and his wife Mary Ann, and John J. Hager and his wife Theresa, both of Spotswood; a daughter, Jeanne Hager of Broomfield, CO; a sister, Lynn Muller of Spring Lake; and 7 grandchildren: Michael, Kristen, Ann Marie, Chris, Rebecca, Mary Grace and Melanie Hager. Friends may call on Wed., from 4 - 6:30PM at The BRUNSWICK MEMORIAL HOME, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, and are welcome at a memorial service at 6:30 PM.
