Vincent A. Squillaro, age 82 of Long Branch died on March 21, 2013 at home. Born in Newark, he had lived in Edison before moving to Long Branch 4 years ago. Vincent was the owner and operator of Pratt Electronics in East Brunswick. He served his country honorably in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Vincent was an avid horse race and sports enthusiast. When he entered a room, he made everyone happy by telling jokes and laughing with family and friends, which gave him great joy. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Vincent was predeceased by his parents Alphonso and Antoinette Squillaro and his brother Alphonso Squillaro.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Lorraine Schaefer Squillaro; a brother, Joseph Squillaro and his wife June of Toms River; 2 sisters, Anna Zamarin of Lawrence Harbor and Connie Masi and her husband David of Florida; a sister in law, Helen Schaefer of Fair Haven and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 25 from 5- 8 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave, (corner of Third Ave), Long Branch. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 am at the funeral home followed by an entombment at St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to Ryerss Farm for Aged Equines, 1710 Ridge Road, Pottstown, PA 19465.
