Mary E. Hayter, 51, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2013 at Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown, NJ. Born in Madison, WI, she was a 21 year resident of Minnesota and a 15 year resident of Falls Church, VA. Ms. Hayter worked for LifeCell in Bridgewater, NJ since 2007 as the Vice President of Health Policy, Economics, and Reimbursements. Prior to joining LifeCell, Mary worked at Smith & Nephew as the Vice President of Government Affairs/Health Economics and Compliance and in Washington, D.C., as a Senior Legislative Associate. Mary had a Master of Public Administration from the University of Idaho, a Fellow from the University of California, and a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration and Political Science from the University of Wisconsin. Mary was an avid golfer who loved the outdoors. She loved snowshoeing, kayaking, and hiking. She was a collector of M&M candies, loved children's toys, and was a professional shopper.
She was preceded in death by her beloved father, Thomas, in 2012. Surviving are her beloved mother, Gerda Tonkin Hayter of Sun City Center, FL; her cherished sister, Jane E. Keily and her husband, Patrick and her dear nephew, Thomas P. Keily, all of Mequon, WI; and many cherished friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2013 from 5 to 7 PM at Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876 (908) 526-7638. It is requested that attendees wear orange and/or red to celebrate Mary's love for her job at LifeCell. In lieu of flowers, the Mary E. Hayter Memorial Fund is being established at The Rockefeller University to honor Mary's memory. Those who wish to contribute to this Fund may donate online at www.rockefeller.edu.
