Emil Fuzak, 86, of Hopelawn, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2013 at his home. Mr. Fuzak was born in Perth Amboy and had lived the last sixty two years in Hopelawn. Mr. Fuzak was a US Army Veteran of both WWII and the Korean War.
He was employed as a warehouseman by Witco Chemical in Perth Amboy for twenty- seven years before retiring in 1991. Mr. Fuzak had also previously been a self employed carpenter, working with various contractors throughout the area. He was a member of Hungarian Reformed Church of Perth Amboy. Mr. Fuzak was an avid fan of the NY Yankees and of boxing. He greatly enjoyed gardening and was a enthusiastic fisherman. He took great pleasure in his daily trips to the Perth Amboy waterfront and enjoyed spending time in Atlantic City. Emil was predeceased by three brothers Louis, John, and Joseph Fuzak and two sisters Helen Hari and Irene Fuzak..
He is survived by his beloved wife, of sixty two years and caregiver for the last seven years, Lillian Veres Fuzak, his loving daughter: Sharon Chelnik and her companion Mike Mulherin, his sister, Mary Godeski of Morgan, two grandchildren, Samuel Chelnik and his wife Kelly and Michelle Chelnik and her companion Brandan, two great grandchildren Gabrielle Chelnik and William Chelnik. The family would also like to recognize in appreciation, Emil's caregiver of seven years, Barbara Schmid, his current caregiver for the last year of Caring Hospice of Edison, Maria Tavares, Nurse Annie Veloso, social worker Margaret Zimmer also a special thank you to Rev. Doug and Rev. Joe for their prayers and support.
Funeral services will be held Thursday 10:00 am at the Mitruska Funeral Home, Inc., 531 New Brunswick Ave., Fords. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery in Hopelawn. Visitation hours will be held Wednesday from 7-9 pm.
