AGE: 90 • Sayreville

Lorraine Simko, 90, of Sayreville, NJ. Passed away peacefully on Saturday morning April 27, 2013 at Haven Hospice, JFK Medical Center, Edison, NJ. Lorraine was born November 30, 1922 in New Brunswick, NJ. and was the daughter of the late Charles and Laura (nee Sudnick) Witczak.

She was a life long resident of Sayreville. Lorraine graduated from South River High School and is a graduate of Montclair State University with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a Master's Degree in Library Science. She was a librarian at Sayreville War Memorial High School for 40 years, and she retired as head librarian in 1985. For the past two years, she has been a resident of the Briarwood Care and Rehabilitation Center in South Amboy. Lorraine was a member of the Middlesex County Retired Educators Association. She was a communicant of the Church of the Sacred Heart in South Amboy for the past 46 years.

She is predeceased by her loving husband of 59 years John in 2011 and their son Phillip in 2001, Lorraine is survived by her brother-in-law Robert Simko and his wife Pamela of Aptos, CA, her nephews, Ronald Parrottino of Southport, NC and Sean Simko of Aptos, CA; her nieces, Kathleen Babich of Annandale, NJ Maureen Hreha of Edison, NJ and Eileen Minte of Scarborough, ME and several grandnephews and a grandniece; and numerous cousins.

A remembrance will be held on Monday May 6, 2013 at 10:00 am at the Kurzawa Funeral Home, 338 Main Street, South Amboy, New Jersey 08879. A mass will be offered at 11:00 am at the Church of the Sacred Heart in South Amboy and the interment will be at Saint Mary's Cemetery, East Brunswick, NJ. In lieu of flowers and kindly make donations to the Church of the Sacred Heart, 224 N. Feltus Street, South Amboy, NJ 08879.
