John J. McGrath 84 of Leisure Village West, Manchester died Sunday, June 16, at the Ocean Medical Center, Brick. He was employed as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, East Brunswick for 35 years before retiring in 1989. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was a parishioner of St. John's Church, Lakehurst. He was a Life Member of the American Legion Post #129, Toms River. He was a member of Viston and the Golf Club of Leisure Village West, and volunteered for Meals on Wheels and Helping Hands. Born in Trenton, he lived there and in East Brunswick, before moving to Manchester in 1992. Surviving are 2 sons, Kevin, of Biloxi, MS and Christopher of Manchester. Also surviving are 2 sisters, Mary Delfinis of Cranford, Nora Corchoran of Clark, 4 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. Visitation is Thursday from 5-9 pm at the Oliverie Funeral Home, 2925 Ridgeway Road, Manchester. Funeral Liturgy will be 9:00 am Friday at St. John's Church, Lakehurst with interment to follow at the Brigadier Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
