Dr. Richard C. Przystup, 72 years old, of Whiting N.J., died suddenly on Tuesday, June 18, 2013. Dr. Przystup was born in Jersey City N.J. and resided in South Jersey since 1978. He was a graduate of St. Anthony's High School in Jersey City, and Rutgers University, Newark NJ. In his early career, Richard was a biology teacher at Hudson Catholic High School in Jersey City. Richard then went on to medical school to become a physician graduating in 1974. His years of medical internship and residency were accomplished at Jersey City Medical Center and continuing his care in South Jersey as an emergency room physician in various hospitals such as Kimble Medical Center.
Richard's two children, Matthew age 35 and Amy age 31 are alive and well, of which whom he had while married to Teresa Amicarelli. In his latter years; Richard was a professor at St. John's University in Staten Island, NY, an avid reader of medical journals, and spent time with family, his granddaughter Isabelle, as well as caring for his daughter, Amy. Richard was 1 of 8 siblings and leaves behind a host of family and friends.
Arrangements: funeral mass on Friday, June 28, 2013, at 11:00am, at St. John's Roman Catholic Church, 619 Chestnut St., Lakehurst NJ. Family and friends are invited to attend, as well as lunch immediately following at Le Bova Grande.
