Roy Harris

AGE: 81 • Highland Park

Roy Harris, 81, of Highland Park, died Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at JFK Hospice in Edison. Born in Jersey City, he lived in Highland Park for the past 40 years. He was employed as a chemical operator with Mobil Chemical in Edison for many years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a past Commander and Life Member of the American Legion Post 88 in Highland Park and an Honorary Member of the Carteret Volunteer Fire Co. No. 2.

He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Harriet Harris, his brother, Paul Harris and his sister, Arline DePasquale. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Diane (Roselli) Harris; two sons, Joseph Harris of Highland Park and Roy Harris and his wife, Linda, of Carteret; and one daughter, Debra Aleksandrich and her husband, Lawrence, of Carteret. Also survived by four grandchildren, Kim, Kelly, Kristen and Jordan; two great-grandchildren, Brandon, Jr. and Brielle; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will take place Saturday from the Rumpf Funeral Home, 21 Locust Street, Carteret. We will meet at 8:30 AM at the funeral home and begin leaving at 9:00 AM for a 9:30 Mass at St. Joseph RC Church, Carteret. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway, NJ. Visiting hours will be Friday Evening 5 to 9 PM.
