Donald E Greenwood of Bridgewater passed away at home Monday, July 1st, 2013 surrounded by his loved ones. Born October 22nd, 1947 in Somerville, NJ, Donald was the son of the late Lloyd & Marcia Greenwood (nee Balcom).
With 45 years of environmental experience he was the successful owner of two companies specializing in environmental cleanup & demolition. One of his proudest achievements was receiving the 2008 Who's Who Executive of the Year award representing the Environmental Remediation Industry.
Donald was an avid reader & traveler. His pig roasts, super bowl & Hawaiian parties were legendary. Christmas & Halloween provided him the opportunity to buy the largest and most outrageous decorations he could find which would bring a smile to everyone's face. One of his favorite past times was showing off his 1925 Model T, 1930 Model A and 2004 Chevrolet SSR at local car shows. Donald will forever be remembered as the man with a heart of gold who would do anything for anyone.
He is survived by his beloved Lee, his sister Dorothy Stys & Tom Hale of Camarillo, CA, his brother Kenneth & wife Rheta of Albuquerque, NM, his five children John & wife Yvette of Perkasie, PA, Joanne Mazzocca & husband Steve of Slatington, PA, Karin Tropeano & husband Leo of Lambertville, NJ, Ken Kovasala of Apex, NC, Lauren Sousa of Bridgewater, NJ., 10 grandchildren Leo, Dayna, Megan Emily, Michael, Amanda, Jack, Cheyenne, Shaina, Cody , four nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Duke.
Friends and family are invited to join in the celebration of his life on Saturday, July 6th at Franklin memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, Route 27 & Cozzens Lane, North Brunswick at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
