Louis Conover Obituary
AGE: 52 • Freehold
Louis Darren Conover, 52, of Freehold, died Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, at home. He was born in Neptune. He was a Senior Corrections Officer at Northern State Prison, Newark before his retirement. Prior to that, he was also employed at Rahway State Prison and the Monmouth County Correctional Institution. He was a member of Groove Phi Groove Social Fellowship, Inc. and the Masonic Lodge.
He was predeceased by his parents, James E. Conover Sr. and Mary Marlow Conover-McDonald; a stepfather, Nathaniel O. McDonald Sr.; a brother, Leonard Conover; and a sister, Dawn E. Conover. Surviving are his wife, Karen Gaston Conover; his children, Abdul Kariym Conover, Samirya Conover, Amiynah Conover, and Najee Conover; two brothers, James E. Conover Jr. and his wife Judy and Nathaniel O. McDonald Jr. and his wife Sherita; two sisters, Marian D. Conover-Burke and her husband George and Marlena A. Conover; a stepsister, Nia Wright; two grandchildren, Jaiyana Conover-Smith and Kenyon Mekhi Anderson; and two nieces, Alisha Conover-Bermadez and her husband Mario, and Erika Gordon.
The viewing will be held from 12 noon Monday, Sept. 23, 2013 until the funeral services at 1 p.m. at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center St., Freehold, followed by interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold.

I was shocked to hear of Louie's passing.
I played basketball with him at Freehold Boro HS, and remember all the great times our team had. Louie was a great athlete and a great person, and always had a smile on his face. He will me missed dearly. RIP
