Alfio "Al" Dipane, 87, of North Brunswick, died Wednesday evening at his residence. Born in Bound Brook, Al had been a resident of North Brunswick since 1945. He was employed for over 20 years as an Administrative Assistant by the Middlesex County Court. Previously he was the Business Agent for Bond Clothes, New Brunswick.
An amiable guy who enjoyed talking to anyone he met, Al was a lifetime communicant of St. Mary of Mt. Virgin RC Church, New Brunswick; and was a long time member and former Vice President of the Italian American Social Club of North Brunswick. Al was a member of the US Navy during WWII.
Son of the late Rosario and Rose (Cappella) Dipane, he was also predeceased by his beloved wife, Martha in 2009. Surviving are his son, Russell and his companion, Carol Cadogan of Ellicott City, Maryland; his granddaughter, and her husband, Joselyn and Gary Szczepanski and his great granddaughter, Lilly Marie Szczepanski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, September 30th at St. Mary of Mt. Virgin RC Church, 190 Sandford St., New Brunswick. Interment will follow immediately in the St. Peter Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Foundation, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements are under the direction of the Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, 239 Livingston Ave., NJ. Members of the Italian American Social Club of North Brunswick will gather at the church at 9:45 am to honor their fallen brother.
