Henry Palmer, Jr., 85, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at his home in Livingston. Born in Plainfield, he lived there for many years before moving to Westfield and finally Livingston nearly 40 years ago. A graduate of Plainfield High School, Henry was a veteran of World War II, having served with the US Army. He graduated from Rutgers College of Pharmacy in 1954, had owned two pharmacies and worked as a pharmacist at various pharmacies before accepting a position at the VA Medical Centers - East Orange and Lyons Campuses as Assistant Chief of Pharmacy.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marion; his children, Henry (Sharon), Craig (Alberta), Marvan (Patricia), Marcella and Erik; his sisters, Martha Jones and Lou King; his 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. His sister Erlean Robinson and granddaughters Alisha and Charity precede him in death.
A Memorial Service will be held at Memorial Funeral Home, 155 South Ave., Fanwood on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 11am. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers please donate in Honor of Henry Palmer Jr. to the
