George A. Beatty ,70, of Aberdeen, passed away on November 23, 2013 at Riverview Medical Center. Born in Long Branch to the late Aloysius and Modesta Beatty, George lived most of his life in the Morgan section of Sayreville before moving to Aberdeen in 1976. He attended Sayreville High School and took part in the high school football and wrestling teams. After graduating in 1961, George went on to work for Local 9 as a plumber and pipefitter until his retirement in 1998. He enlisted in the Naval Reserves from 1968-1972, where he was 1st in his class. After his retirement, George worked for Straub Motors in Keyport. He was a little league coach in Morgan, enjoyed skiing with his family in the Poconos, had a great sense of humor and will be sadly missed by all those who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife Maureen Beatty, son George E. Beatty and wife Susan, two daughters; Susan Kauffman and husband Brian, Caitlyn Beatty, sister Linda Siwiec, five grandchildren; Murphy, Casey, Aidan, Maggie and Kayla, nephews; Andy, Brian, and Corey and his dog Bailey.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 25, 2013 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Waitt Funeral Home and Cremation Service, located at 501 Highway 79 Morganville NJ 07751. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Funeral Home on Tuesday at 9:30AM, followed by a 10:30 AM Funeral Mass at St. Benedict's Church in Holmdel. Interment will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
