Charles Paul Patulak, 54, of Perth Amboy, passed away Friday, January 17, 2014 at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy. Mr. Patulak was born in Perth Amboy and had lived all of his life in Perth Amboy. Charles was a skilled professional photographer and developer, specializing in aerial photography. He was also a tasteful and talented Ukrainian Easter egg "pysanky" artist, featured in the News Tribune. Charles was a life-long member of the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Assumption, in Perth Amboy, graduating from the parish school in 1973. Charles was instrumental in the production of the parish's centennial book, "The History of Ukrainians in Perth Amboy, NJ," serving as Photography and Imagery Editor, managing or vreating some 900 images; while also serving on the book proofing and production staff. Charles also served on the kitchen staff for parish "Zabava" (dinner party) Committee, was a volunteer photographer for many parish events, was a church usher, and had been a Holy Name Society member and parish webmaster. A gentle and righteous man, Charles will be dearly missed by relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his father John in 1994. He is survived by his mother Mary Badiak Patulak of Perth Amboy, a brother John M. Patulak of Perth Amboy, and several aunt's uncle's and cousin's.
A Service of Divine Liturgy will be held Wednesday 10:00 am at the Ukrainian Catholic Church of The Assumption, 684 Alta Vista Pl., Perth Amboy. Interment will follow in the Assumption Cemetery in Hopelawn. Visitation hours will be held Wednesday from 9:00 am till time of Service in the church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made for Masses. service's are arranged by Mitruska Funeral Home, Fords, NJ.
