AGE: 89 • Middletown
Dorothy Vieser, of Middletown, died peacefully in her home of Alzheimer's complications on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014 at the age of 89. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Dorothy lived her life treating others with kindness and compassion, never putting herself first if there was something she could do to help others. With a warm smile that could light a room Dorothy was known for ALWAYS being able to find the fun in whatever life threw her way. Dorothy's greatest pleasure in life revolved around her family and friends.
Dorothy was a vibrant, courageous and a loving force, living her life with passion, enjoying every minute, always a pillar of strength during difficult times. She was a loving daughter, caring for her parents during their long retirement years, and an incredibly proud mother and grandmother, always nurturing and supportive. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Ellis Vieser, and will be loved always by her surviving family, her two sons, Steven and Randy, daughter-in-law Sandy, two cherished grandchildren, Jeff and Kevin, sister-in-law, Arline Bechtoldt and her three nephews, Chris, Scott and Todd Bechtoldt.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, 2014 at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Ave., Red Bank. A service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 10, 2014 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Middletown. Memorial donations may be sent in Dorothy's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, 400 Morris Ave., #251, Denville, NJ 07834. I will miss her smiling face. She loved her family so much and I was lucky to have known them in my lifetime. May Dorothy rest in peace now next to her loving husband. What a wonderful family. Stay strong Steven. xoxoxox

Dottie and the Vieser family were our neighbors for 21 years and became wonderful friends which continued after our move to IL. Dottie and I spent many a summer day at the beach in Sea Bright and I have a storehouse of wonderful memories of the entire family. Although we are in Illinois our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family and we are present in spirit.I am sure Dottie is sitting in God's garden as He always pickes the fairest and the beautiful to rest there.

My family and I had the pleasure of living next door to the Vieser family on Normandy Court in Middletown NJ. from 1961 to 1983. I have many happy memories of the summer holidays we celebrated together at the neighborhood block parties. Mrs. Vieser was admired for her patience with Steven and the neighborhood kids, as we practiced and performed plays in their garage.(the Christmas Nativity was by far the most notable performance). No matter when I knocked on their door, Mrs. Vieser always greeted me with a smile. These are just some of my childhood memories that I have embraced throughout my adult life. We loved you then Mrs Vieser and we love you now and forever. You are a beautiful person.
