AGE: 72 • Leonardo
Daniel J. Miragliotta Sr., 72, of Leonardo, passed away peacefully on Monday, Feb. 23, 2015, at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank. He was born on April 22, 1942 in Elizabeth, where he grew up. In 1990, Daniel and his wife, Dorothy, moved to Leonardo, where they opened up a hot dog business known as "Dot & Dan's Dogs." Before retiring, Daniel also worked for the Laborers Local #394, a builders trade construction union. He was also a proud U.S. Army veteran. He was predeceased by his parents, Angelo and Catherine (Crilly) Miragliotta. Daniel is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 52 years, Dorothy A. (Kelichner) Miragliotta; his loving children, Daniel J. Miragliotta Jr. and his wife Darlene of Atlantic Highlands, Lisa Lafer of Keansburg, and Gina Miragliotta of Keyport; his dear brothers, Nick and Angelo Miragliotta of Florida, along with his cherished grandchildren, Kristen, D.J., Tommy, Tiffany, Angelo, Victoria, and Thomas. He will be sadly missed, but never forgotten. In respect of Daniel's wishes, he will be privately cremated. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015 at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3269 State Rt. 35 N., Hazlet. We were shocked this morning when we read about Dan in the newspaper. He was a terrific friend and both Pat and I will truly miss him. What we will miss the most is his friendliness and the conversations
that we used to have with him. We extend our deepest sympathy to Dot and family.

Dot and family - So very sorry to hear of the passing of Dan. Walks around the harbor will no longer be the same. Really enjoyed stopping to say hello to him or wave from across the street. You are all in our hearts and prayers (Marylu,Clara & Frank)

I just learned this very sad news. Although I only had the pleasure of "hanging out" with Dan a handful of times, he made quite an impression and made me laugh a LOT. I know his family will miss him deeply, I am so sorry for their loss. Stay strong Dottie, Dan, Darlene, DJ & Angelo...much love to you all <3

I'm going to miss Dan a lot he was a good friend. I'm will miss his Tuesday sandwich visits. He was always very helpful. Our condolences and prayers to the family.
