Lula Edwards Obituary
AGE: 88 • Somerset
Lula Edwards of Somerset passed Wednesday, January 27 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Birmingham, Al, she has lived in Somerset for 51 years. She retired from Johnson and Johnson and returned to work at Conerly Road Elementary School when she eventually retired. She was a member of Mt. Zion AME Church New Brunswick for the past 51 years.
Lula was predeceased by her husband Arthur (2003), Her mother Dora and Sister Dorothy (1997), brothers Sherman and Herman and sister Helen. Surviving are Nieces and Nephews
Terrezene Brown, Vincent Hughes, Althea Farley, Ronald Hughes, Dawn Allen
Fronscier Blocker (Paul), Gwendolyn Brown, Yolonda Hughes, Mark Brown, Kermit Hughes (Norma)
Valencia Hughes, Sherritta Hughes, David Patterson, Lance Hughes and host of many other nieces, nephews family and friends.
Visitation will be held Friday February 5 from 5pm to 7pm at Mt. Zion AME Church 39 Hilderbrand Way (Morris Street) New Brunswick, NJ. Services will follow immediately. Interment will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Franklin Memorial Park in Somerset, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations in her memory to Disabled American Veterans Organization, Lupus Foundation of America and Mt. Zion AME Church. Arrangements are by Anderson Funeral Service, New Brunswick.

My sincerest condolences to all of Lula B.'s family. I had the honor and pleasure of working with Lula at Johnson & Johnson, and even after moving to West Virginia in 1986 we kept in touch. Whenever I was in N.J. I would always visit with Lula. She was a very special little lady and will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all, and may God bless!
