AGE: 99 • Moravia, NY

Lillian Applegate, 99, of Moravia NY, passed away March 30, 2017 surrounded by family. She was born on October 8, 1917 in South Amboy, NJ, the daughter of the late Charles and Clara Andersen Nau.

While living in South Amboy, Lillian married her husband of 71 years, the late Clarence Emmerson Applegate Jr. Lillian was a stay at home mom while raising their family in Sayreville NJ. When Clarence retired they moved to New Albany PA where they lived for over thirty years. After Clarence passed, Lillian moved to Moravia to be closer to family. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting, gardening, reading and playing the organ. Her greatest joy was being with her family who will miss her dearly.

Lillian is survived by sons Carl (Connie) Applegate of Blodgett Mills NY, James (Carol) Applegate of Cranbury NJ, and Donald (Pauline) Applegate of Palmetto FL, 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery, Homer NY. Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc., of Cortland NY is serving the family.
