Sayre, Mildred - Mason County  
NITRO — Mildred Louise Mattox Sayre, loving known as "Micki," and formerly of Mason County, received her angel wings and went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 28, 2015. She was reunited in heaven with her husband of 58 years, Pearley "Bud" Sayre. She also joined her beloved son Christopher Sayre, her parents Chris and Dessa Smith Mattox, and her siblings Robert Mattox, Joseph Mattox, and Opal Shelton. Her surviving family members and their spouses include Kathy Grinstead, of Bartow, Fla., Debbie Christian, of Huntington, Doug and Bonita Sayre, of Daniels, Tina and Bill Leslie, of Winfield, along with Nancy Franklin, of Millwood, who remained a part of her family. She also leaves behind siblings Paul Mattox, Rosalee Adams, Christina Williams, Betty Sleight and her sister-in-law Nelda Mattox. Micki was blessed with 13 grandchildren: Wyatt Wheeler, LuAnn Wilcoxen, Ryan Wheeler, Cindy Ferguson, Chad Christian, Lora Beth Sayre, Bryan Christian, Dr. Anita Stewart, Aren Dodge, Alicia Luechtefeld, Travis Surratt, Andrew Marcum and Jayna Sayre. She loved spoiling her grandchildren, her 13 great-grandchildren, and her nieces and nephews. Micki was born Dec. 2, 1928, in Nitro, and graduated from Nitro High School in 1947. She married the love of her life, Bud Sayre, on Aug. 30, 1947. She was a homemaker and a wonderful mother of five. They moved to the family farm in Mason County, which became her loving home where she and Bud raised her family. She influenced the lives of hundreds of youth as the leader of The Busy 4's 4-H club for 20 years. Micki was a faithful Christian and honored the Lord by teaching Sunday School at Point Pleasant Church of God and the Buffalo Church of God, where she was active in youth and young adult ministries. She always exhibited her faith whether she was at the Nitro, South Lake Wales or Teays Valley Church of God. Micki will be remembered for her love and devotion to God and her family. A celebration of life service for Micki will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at Nitro Church of God with Dr. Joseph Mattox officiating. Entombment will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the church and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, contribution can be made in memory of Micki and Bud Sayre to Faith Mountain, HC7 Box 18C, Rosedale, WV 26636. VINTON, Ohio — Cathy L. Sibley, 56, Vinton, died Saturday, June 27, 2015, at her home. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at the Church of Christ of Rio Grande, in Rio Grande, Ohio, with Evangelist Tim Gainer officiating. Burial will follow in Vinton Memorial Park. MASON, W.Va. — Donna Jean Stewart, 79, of Mason, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2105, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio, following an extended illness. Service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at Casto Funeral Home Chapel, Evans, W.Va., with the Rev. Billy Casto officiating. Burial will follow in Otterbein Cemetery, Evans. Visitation will be one hour prior to the time of service.
