GALLIPOLIS — Thelma "Jean" Danner, 78, of Gallipolis, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 24, 2016, surrounded by her family. She was born Oct. 1, 1938, in Gallipolis, to the late William Jacob and Sarah Margaret (Farley) Wise. Jean was retired from Gallipolis Developmental Center and enjoyed spending time with her family along with crafts and decorating. She was preceded in death by her parents; children Rodney Allen Lee (infant), Randy Joe Lee; first husband Charles Edward Lee; and a sister Hilda McDaniel. Jean, as she was affectionately known, is survived by her husband, Richard Danner; children Vicky Sue (Chris) Burris, Kelvin Lee, Shelia "Dee Dee" (Dave) Grant; daughter-in-law, Deatra "Dee" Lee; sister Carol (Sid) Hayman; brother Roland (Joanne) Wise; special friend Kim George; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, July 28, 2016, at Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Middleport. Burial will follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery in Cheshire. RUTLAND — Lesley Ray Gibbs, 67, of Rutland, unexpectedly passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at his residence. Born Jan. 6, 1949, in Mason,W.Va., to the late Harold Eugene and Helen Stanley Gibbs, he was a loving dad and grandpa. He was also a coal miner at Meigs Mine 1 & 31, and a member of United Mine Workers of America. He is survived by three children: James W. (Karen) Gibbs, Brian T. (Alicia) Gibbs and Stacey R. (Rory Bartrum) Cleland; seven brothers and sisters: Wesley, Jack, Gwen, Luanna, Pete, Gary and Regina; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers and sisters Doug, Darrell, Helena and Nancy. At Gibby's request, there is to be no services or visition. Gibbs, Mona - Pomeroy  
POMEROY, Ohio — The angels came for Mona Josephine (Edwards) Gibbs, 95, on July 19, 2016, to take her to her heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born September 9, 1920. Mona attended her local church all her life. Originally it was the Evangelical United Brethren. The name was later changed to Fairview Bible Church. Mona was saved in a barn at 9 years of age after hearing her friend, Kay Lewis, "pretend" preaching. Mona's strong faith in Jesus Christ helped carry her through life, including the Depression and WWII with her Navy husband, Rolland, fighting in the South Pacific. After moving to Rocksprings Rehab Center, now Arbors of Pomeroy, Ohio, she still attended church services there when she was able and amazed her caregivers with her singing and love of God. Mona was a homemaker and loved to cook and bake for her family. She loved the beauty of nature and working in her flower beds. Mona was preceded in death by her parents, Ramie and Rebecca (Roach) Edwards and 9 siblings; brothers, Ted, Earl and Willie Edwards; sisters, Edith Riggs, Ruby Smith, Nettie Hensley, Nellie Schools, Bessie Ohlinger and Mary Zerkle. In addition to these, she was preceded by her beloved husband of 56 years, Rolland Pearl and a pre-born daughter, Pam. Surviving are sons, Rolland "Sunny" (Connie) Gibbs and Ramie "Keith" (Michelle) Gibbs, both of Letart; daughters, Ramona "Bunny" (Dean) Knight of New Haven and Renita Roush of Letart. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. Service will be Friday, July 22, 2016 at noon, at the Foglesong Funeral Home, Mason, with the Pastor Brian Maye officiating. Burial will follow in Zirkle Cemetery, Letart. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home. Condolences may be shared with the family at: foglesongfuneralhome.com
