PARKERSBURG — Nancy Penrose Roney Douglas, 81, of Parkersburg, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2014, at Camden Clark Medical Center.
She was born Nov. 7, 1932, in Princeton, W.Va., a daughter of the late Henry Clay and Margaret Ruth (Peery) Roney. Nancy was a 1951 graduate of Wahama High School, employed by Viscose, and a sales representative for Avon and CopperCraft. Nancy felt great satisfaction in knowing that all of her children have accepted Jesus Christ.
Nancy left behind many loved ones including her children Carolyn Roush Keyes (Jerry), Vickie Banks, Michael Stivers (Becky), Sheri Gaston (Don), Patrick Stivers (Melody) and Jenna Ernstes (Mike); one sister, Margaret L. Smith; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a large, loving extended family.
She was welcomed into Heaven by her husband Arthur "Art" Douglas; beloved daughter Dena Marie Stivers; her parents; her sister Arlona Leiving; and her brother Clay Roney.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2014, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home in Parkersburg. Burial followed in Sunset Memory Gardens.
Visitation was from noon to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
