POINT PLEASANT — James "Jim" Lynn Long, 69, of Point Pleasant, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at his home with his loving family at his side. He was born May 13, 1945, in Rutland, Ohio, a son to the late Phillip Edward Long and Christine Nora Matthews Long.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and served during the Vietnam War. He was an ironworker in the construction industry, and was a member of Gospel Lighthouse Church, Mason County Tea Party, and Ironworkers Local 787 of Parkersburg.

He was preceded in death with his parents; stepson Jimmy Cottrill; and grandson Chris Allan.

He is survived by his loving wife Linda Long, of Point Pleasant; sons Larry (Willa) Cottrill, of Point Pleasant, Mark (Michelle) Long, of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Chad (Traci) Long, of Bidwell, Ohio; daughter Tana Hart, of Leon; brothers Sherman (Linda) Long, of Gallipolis Ferry, and Robert (Linda) Long, of Gallipolis, Ohio; sister Tana Montgomery, of Gallipolis Ferry; grandchildren Marci and Brody, and Leala, Jimmy, Breck, Faith, Zachary, Devyn and Sherman; and great-grandchildren Alexis, Hayden and Trace.

A memorial service will be held at the Point Of Faith Church in Point Pleasant, on Sunday, July 13, 2014, at 2 p.m. with pastors Anthony Toler and Carl Ward officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
