Dorothy Evelyn Clark, 90, of, Point Pleasant, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday evening, January 7, 2014, at Pleasant Valley Nursing and Rehab Center. Dorothy was born March 16, 1923, in Gallipolis Ferry, a daughter of the late Oden West and Esther Belle (Austin) Pearson. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles L. Clark, Jr.; daughter, Charlene Wood; grandson, Jeffrey Oden Clark, Jr.; five sisters and three brothers.
She is survived by five children, Roger (Twila) Clark, Lana (Keith) Sayre, Mary Martin, Jeffrey (Belinda) Clark, all of Point Pleasant, and Kimberly (Tony) Oliver, of Letart; 12 grandchildren, Melissa (Mike) Peggs, of Burnsville, Darren (Lisa) Clark and Tammy (Greg) Willet, of Gallipolis, Ohio; Craig (Natalie) Wood, Brent (Teresa) Wood, all of Marietta, Ohio, Brian (Vanessa) Sayre, Roberta Clark, Roy Martin, Jr., Aimee (Tommy) Wilson and Shelly Clark, all of Point Pleasant, Jobeth (Floyd) Stewart, of Lambertville, Mich., and Matthew (Philindy) Oliver, of Hurricane; several great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bonnie Harrison, of Gallipolis, Ohio and Margaret Noffsinger, of Poca; sister-in-law, Helen Pearson, of Henderson; brother-in-law, Pete Roush, of Cheshire, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
She was a member of the Sand Hill Road Church of Christ, in Point Pleasant and was a wonderful Christian example to all who knew her and a loving mother, grandmother, homemaker and caretaker.
The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, January 11, 2014, at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, with Grandson, Matthew Oliver officiating. Burial will follow in Kirkland Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the
