BEL AIR, Md. — Lewis Thomas (Tom) Taylor, 74, formerly of Mason, passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2017 surrounded by his family at University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Hospital in Bel Air, Md.

He was the son of the late Roy and Louise (McDaniel) Taylor.

Tom was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School. He was a retiree from Kaiser Aluminum in Ravenswood. He also owned and operated LT Taylor Contracting in Mason. He was a member of Clifton United Methodist Church, where he was a Lay Leader, Choir Director and Sunday school teacher.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine Roush, and infant brother, Robert.

He is survived by his children, Jill Nelson (Gene), and Barry Taylor, Mason; brother, Roy J. Taylor and friend Lois Railey of Aberdeen, Md.; sister, Carol Jean Holley (Jim) of Rushville, Ohio, and several nephews and nieces. He is also survived by his constant canine companion, Izzy.

He loved to fish and travel, had a way with horses, and a quick wit. He will be missed

Per his wishes, he will be cremated and his ashes placed in the family plot at Lone Oak Cemetery, Point Pleasant. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
