LEWISBURG — Wilma Mae Hammack, 91, of Lewisburg, died March 22, 2018 at Greenbrier Health Care Center after a short illness.

Mrs. Hammack was born September 7, 1926, to the late Flora and Benjamin Franklin Board in Mason. Growing up in Mason County, she graduated from Wahama High School, going on to business school.

She was a former resident of Charleston and served many years as executive secretary for the Charleston Chamber of Commerce and later for Columbia Gas Transmission in the legal department as legal secretary and librarian. She and her husband were charter members of Oakhurst Presbyterian Church and later congregants of Old Stone Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Douglas Hammack; her grandson, Joseph Preston Allen; and three sisters, Mildred Irene Konieczny, Ruth Marie Johnson and Mary Lucille Berry.

Surviving is her only child, Rebecca Jane Hammack Allen of Union and husband Michael Allen.

Visitation was held Monday, March 26, with the service beginning at 11 a.m., at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg with Pastor Anna Straight officiating. Committal services were Tuesday, March 27, at the Graceland Memorial Park Chapel in Charleston. Burial was in Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery, where Wilma will reside alongside the love of her life, John Hammack.
